Patrick came out to my house right on time. After looking at the garage door, he was thorough in his explanation of what the issues were and how he would repair them. He was clearly very knowledgeable and clarified every question I had. His work was efficient and he beat his estimated time by at least half an hour. When he was done, he then explained and showed me all of the work completed. He even explained all of the warranty information, as well. I am surprised with the the quote given to me. My garage door opener is pretty old and the gear broke from inside and there is no way to repair. So, I asked for the quote how much would be the final amount if i go for new garage door opener. They have gave the quote which 4 times higher than market rate (total $3200). I checked with Home depot and their technician and got it replace in $400. I would not recommend service from Precision. Highly disappointed.

I had my service Monday, which went very well and the tech was very quick in getting my new motor and springs installed. I will say, I was a bit shocked at the price. I was not offered options and was just told that the cost would be $3600 for what he was installing. I was surprised on the invoice to see how much some of the individual components were and that it wasn’t service that was the result of the price. Looking on the precision garage door website, it seems like the average cost of a motor is 300-500, I paid over a grand for mine. I’m seeing the same motor available online for $400, why is this one so much more? Additionally the two springs were $300 each? Online I’m seeing average costs should be $100-$200 for both combined? It also cost $1000 for center and end bearing plates and cable. I’m just hoping for a bit more transparency on these costs as I do feel a bit like I was given premium options without being consulted on options.

Precision, arrived quickly less than an hour after I called for service. The technician was thorough and explained exactly what my options were. He cleaned his work area, and after all I had him do was done and leaving within 2 hours. He explained what he did showed me the work, and discussed how to use the new product and left information on who and where to call if a problem arrises. I was left with 3 remotes instead of the customary 2. Very very pleased with this company. I have used them in the past although a long time ago, but the service and quality has never changed. Dishonest and rip off. I found this from diamond certified and saw the website claim the company ensure for the door operating as long as I own the property. So I called and ask for spring replacement which I'm told for only $250. However technician came out and quote me on several options ranging from $900+ (1 year warranty) to $1800+ (3 years warranty). He told me to replace other parts which he think should be replaced in order for the spring to operate properly. After talking to several other companies the quotes are from $500 to $900. They told me other parts are still fine and one even offer me lifetime warranty for a premium quality of spring brand.

It appeared that our 9+ year-old garage door opener motor had begun lifting the door much slower than usual starting the last few days of 2022. I thought only the spring might need further tensioning in order to handle more of the work lifting the door, but was not sure. I called Precision mid-morning on December 29th and received an appointment that same afternoon. The technician arrive roughly in the middle of the time window given and called ahead twice to update us with his estimated arrival time. He demonstrated that too little spring tension was Not the problem (our spring apparently has several more years of useful life) and that we needed a new motor as I had feared. Some other door components needed some modest adjustment/alignment/lubrication as well, but we also decided to replace the 22+ year old original wire cables that lift the door since they had begun to fray. The technician walked us through everything he had done, demonstrated all aspects of the new arrangements to us, and programmed the two remotes (one built into our 5 year-old car and a new clip-on visor clicker for our 20 year-old car). My wife and I carried out our own tests of all aspects of the new system that we would be using with the technician to make sure we understood it. We decided not to utilize several of the higher-tech aspects of the new motor system since we did not expect to have any need for them. The entire job took about 2-1/2 hours, but everything tested out perfectly. The work was a lot more expensive than I had hoped (just an inspection, a spring adjustment, and some lubrication), but we feel that all the repair/replacement work performed yesterday was necessary and properly done. We have used Precision every year or two for over a decade to maintain and repair our garage door. This was the first major repair in many years.

It was a bummer that the spring on my garage door broke and the opener then pulled away from the door when it tried to raise the door. The door is very heavy and I had to get my grandson who lives with us to help me get the door open, so we could get our vehicles out. A friend tried to fix the door, the next day, but that was not going so well. I called Precision because a neighbor recommended them. They took only a few hours to show up and the tech was very knowledgeable. He put on some new springs that were longer and more powerful and upgraded most of the hardware that needed to be replaced. James was very speedy and knew what he was doing. He lubricated the screw mechanism which made it more quieter. I am very happy with the repair and will recommend them to my neighbors and friends. This is my first experience with the company and I was a little surprised how smoothly it went. James D. Walker was my tech. Try to ask for him. He knows how to fix garage doors. The garage door spring was busted for which I got an approximate quote on chat before calling in a tech. The quote was around $350 but the actual tech had several different recommendations and came up with a bill of $1200. We asked him to change just the springs and he started the work. When the job was done to our surprise the bill had an additional charge of $125 for knockout bearing. Our garage door never had one and we never agreed on getting one. It was definitely a rip-off. From the beginning to the end the technician just tried his best to convince us to get more and unnecessary work done. Definitely not happy with the service and won't fall for it again.
